Sen. Rubio Makes Fun of the Suffering of the Venezuelan People

Marco Rubio, the neocon senator from Florida, considers a suspicious power outage across Venezuela to be funny. He would no doubt feel different if his mother was on a ventilator in a Caracas hospital—then again.

Rubio’s little joke is comparable to former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s national television chortle over the rape and murder of Gaddafi in Libya.

However, the top award for sociopathic viciousness remains on Madeleine Albright’s mantle of accomplishments. Albright was a protege of the late Zbigniew Brzezinski. She also went on national television and declared the engineered murder of half a million Iraqi children during the medieval siege of Iraq to be “worth it.” For her service to the Empire, she received the Senator H. John Heinz III Award for Greatest Public Service by an Elected or Appointed Official, an award handed out annually by the Jefferson Awards Foundation.

Mr. Hanke, an economics professor at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, ignores the intensified economic warfare waged by the United States against the people of Venezuela. Indeed, socialism is a failed system. However, in the case of Maduro and Venezuela, its inherent failures were helped along by a strong dose of covert subversion by the US.

“That sabotage by the private sector has taken the form of hoarding of selected items, price speculation, keeping supermarket shelves empty, sending food shipments to neighboring countries, even setting food warehouse stockpiles on fire. This purposely-generated scarcity creates chaos and discontent, further undermining the government,” writes Joyce Nelson.

The use of “financial weapons” is detailed in the Army Special Operations Forces Unconventional Warfare booklet, made public by WikiLeaks. The document has been described as an instruction manual for subversion of nations unwilling to submit to neoliberal bankster loan shark schemes.

“WikiLeaks drew particular attention to a segment of the publication entitled ‘Financial Instrument of U.S. National Power and Unconventional Warfare.’ This section outlines how the US government, in its own words, uses ‘financial weapons’ to wage ‘economic warfare’ against foreign governments that try to pursue an independent path,” writes Ben Norton.

The Pentagon document explains how the US “can use financial power as a weapon in times of conflict up to and including large-scale general war” and adds that, “manipulation of U.S. financial strength can leverage the policies and cooperation of state governments.”

Rubio has continued to tweet out jokes as babies are manually ventilated in dark hospitals and ICU life-support systems fail.

According to Telesur, a satellite television network funded by the Venezuelan government, the widespread power outage is part of an “electric war” waged by the US.

“We want to send a message to the international community: just three minutes after the attack, Marco Rubio, once again, as a crime reporter, reported on the event that was happening in our country. Mr. Rubio, I want to inform you that, in a few hours, the Venezuelan people and the international community will know the truth. We’ll know that your rotten hands—supported by your lackeys who permanently attack the Venezuelan people—are involved in this event,” Venezuela’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez announced on Thursday.

Venezuela said its Guri dam, one of the largest hydroelectric dams in the world, was sabotaged by a US subversion operation. “The government is saying that the opposition and its leader Juan Guaido are behind this attack, as well as the US,” Al Jazeera’s Teresa Bo reported from Caracas.

Marco Rubio’s callous attempts to make fun of the suffering of the Venezuelan people reveals the psychosis of the neocons and their fellow travelers.

They are responsible for mass murder and genocide, most recently in Afghanistan, Iraq, Libya, Syria, and much of Africa, particularly Somalia. Iran is also suffering from punitive sanctions. More alarming, the neocons and their “humanitarian interventionist” bedfellows are behind efforts to aggressively confront Russia and China, two countries bristling with nuclear warheads.

The latest attempt to take down Venezuela and punish its people for electing a government outside the stranglehold of the globalists has failed.

In the weeks ahead, we can expect more serious and deadly subversion operations conducted by the US. This will inspire Marco Rubio to send out more tweets mocking the suffering of millions of Venezuelans.

Life and Death Near Ground Zero

I live very close to ground zero, or one of many the Russians have said they are targeting in response to Trump’s decision to place intermediate-range nuclear missiles in Europe.

If Putin’s hypersonic nuclear missiles—launched from submarines near US territorial waters—are unleashed, my family and I will be toast.

The White Sands missile testing range is located on the east side of the Organ Mountains, less than twenty miles from where I live. Then there is Holloman Air Force Base, about seventy miles north of here. I should add the Fort Bliss army base in El Paso, about fifty miles east.

A couple years ago, Russia unveiled the Satan 2 Super-nuke (RS-28 Sarmat) to replace its SS-18s. The Satan 2 warhead is 40 megatons, around 2,000 times more powerful than the atom bombs dropped on Japan at the end of the Second World War.

A larger Russian nuke at 50 megatons called Tsar Bomba, or Mother of all Bombs, was tested in October 1961. The mushroom cloud reached over 40 miles into the stratosphere and the fireball was five miles in diameter. A village  located 34 miles from the blast site was completely destroyed. Heat from the explosion could have caused third-degree burns 62 miles away from ground zero and a shock wave was observed in the air at the Dikson settlement 430 miles away.

The geopolitical idiot Trump has talked up “modernizing” the US nuclear stockpile with a new generation of “usable” nukes with dial-a-yields. This prompted the Russians to develop a new generation of nukes, including the Satan 2, and hypersonic delivery vehicles (five times the speed of sound).

In a morbid way, my family and I are lucky—we will be vaporized and probably never know what hit us. The same cannot be said for much of the rest of the country. Millions of Americans will die slowly from radiation sickness and starvation during a nuclear winter.

You might conclude that the ultimate fate of humanity after a nuclear exchange would put a damper on this nonsense. Sadly, this is not the case. Trump is surrounded by psychopathic neocons who view nukes as simply another hammer in the exceptional and indispensable nation’s toolkit.

Mike Pence: Christian Zionist Orchestrator of the Venezuelan Coup

According to Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova, the US is preparing to covertly arm the opposition in Venezuela.

From Sputnik:

We have evidence that US companies and their NATO allies are working on the issue of acquiring a large batch of weapons and ammunition in an Eastern European country for their subsequent transfer to Venezuelan opposition forces.

Instead of the standard neocon tactic of making up a load of horse manure about nonexistent weapons of mass destruction and other scary campfire stories and then bombing and invading the country, it looks like Trump’s rabble of neocon chicken hawk warmongers are considering (for now) the Obama way of doing things—arming the “opposition” (in Libya, these were Salafist murderers, in Ukraine, Russian-hating fascists) while simultaneously running a large propaganda campaign designed to demonize the elected leader of Venezuela. Maduro understands his only two options are to either stand and fight or flee the country. He has chosen the former.

According to an article posted at Axios (h/t Robert Wenzel), the prime motivator is not John Bolton, Elliot Abrams, or Mike Pompeo. It’s Mike Pence, Trump’s robotic Christian Zionist Vice President.

National Security Advisor John Bolton, Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Sen. Marco Rubio also play pivotal roles, but from the first days of the Trump presidency, Pence has dominated the [Venezuela] issue…

As an Indiana congressman, Pence fiercely opposed Castro and railed against communism in Latin America. His faith colors his work. “We are with you,” Pence told a crowd of several hundred South Florida Venezuelans at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church after his first vice presidential trip to Latin America, in the summer of 2017.

Pence arranged to have Juan Guaidó falsely claim he is Venezuela’s “interim president.”

On Monday, Pence traveled to Bogotá “at the invitation of Colombia’s president, touting the U.S.’s ‘unwavering support’ for Guaidó, who he will also meet with. It will be Pence’s fifth trip to Latin America as VP.”

Newsweek reports:

Pence is expected to deliver his speech at a summit of the Lima Group at 10.30 a.m. (ET), following his meeting with regional leaders in Bogota, Colombia. The meeting comes days after U.S. aid convoys were blocked by troops loyal to embattled Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, who is no longer recognized as the country’s leader by the U.S. and other Western nations, at the border on Saturday.

Over the weekend, following the torching on “aid” trucks, Pence was “forced” (according to the Miami Herald) to formally request “the international community” to consider “all options” in Venezuela.

In short, Pence leads the effort to invade Venezuela, or at minimum conduct a merciless bombing raid similar to the sort used to turn Iraq and Libya into failed states wracked by endless violence, which of course was the plan all along, never mind the fantasy Saddam Hussein met with and harbored al-Qaeda or twiddled with anthrax (sold to him by US and European countries).

For the MAGA crowd, Trump can do no wrong. Here’s Lou Dobbs, whom I mistakenly called libertarian-ish a few years ago. In truth, he is simply another neocon fellow traveler.

Trump may lose a few supporters after he bombs the hell out of Venezuela—like he did when he bombed an empty airbase in Syria—but the vast majority will support him no matter what he does.

The conversion is almost complete. MAGA is now shorthand for neocon.

Trump’s Make America Great is indistinguishable from the neoliberal claim the United States is the sole exceptional and indispensable nation and this gives it free rein to engage in mass murder and the destruction of societies, especially those in “our backyard.”

Tucker Carlson is Wrong About Neocon “Failures”

Fox News host Tucker Carlson is wrong about the neocons.

In an article posted at The American Conservative, Carlson argues that the neocons—he singles out Bill Kristol and Max Boot—didn’t achieve their objectives after 9/11, and yet they are considered foreign policy experts.

The primary objective of multiple illegal invasions, according to Carlson and much of the corporate media, was an attempt to bring “democracy” to the Arab and Muslim Middle East and, at the same time, establish American primacy and “leadership” in the region.

This is the feel-good explanation, but it is a mile off the mark. In fact, the neocon project in the Middle East during the second Bush administration was a success. It had nothing to do with a naive effort to gift Arabs with democracy or overthrow brutal dictators enslaving their people, as we were told.

The mass murder of more than a million people, the pulverization of societies and cultures, has nothing to do with a failed and noble attempt to enlighten and free benighted Arabs and Muslims.

It was and is part of a long-term plan devised in Israel and aided and abetted by a single issue pushed by Jewish neocons and their gentile counterparts—murder, intimidation, and the weakening and balkanization of neighboring Arab states.

This cannot be dismissed as a conspiracy theory. It was spelled out in the Personal Diary of Moshe Sharett, published as “Israel’s Sacred Terrorism” in Hebrew in 1979. Sharett was head of the Jewish Agency’s Political Department from 1933 to 1948 and then became Israel’s first foreign minister (1948 1956), under David Ben Gurion, and was prime minister in 1954 and 1955.

Livia Rokach’s book documents “the rationale and mechanics of Israel’s ‘Arab policy’ in the late 1940s and the 1950s. The policy portrayed, in its most intimate particulars, is one of deliberate Israeli acts of provocation, intended to generate Arab hostility and thus to create pretexts for armed action and territorial expansion,” writes Naseer H. Aruri in the book’s preface. He characterizes these policies as Lebensraum, or living space, a German term used by the Nazis when they invaded Eastern Europe and Russia (Operation Barbarossa).

The monograph is replete with examples of Israeli subversion and provocation against its neighbors. From the planned occupation of Syria, the creation of a Maronite state in Lebanon and an effort to topple Arab nationalist Gamal Nasser in Egypt, Sharett’s diary reveals the true nature of the Zionist state and its racist ideology. Because of this, the book is absent from the official historiography.

Further elaboration of this long-term plan is spelled out in A Strategy for Israel in the Nineteen Eighties, authored by Oded Yinon and published by Kivunim (Directions), the journal of the Department of Information of the World Zionist Organization.

“The plan operates on two essential premises,” writes Khalil Nakhleh. “To survive, Israel must 1) become an imperial regional power, and 2) must effect the division of the whole area into small states by the dissolution of all existing Arab states. Small here will depend on the ethnic or sectarian composition of each state. Consequently, the Zionist hope is that sectarian-based states become Israel’s satellites and, ironically, its source of moral legitimation.” (Emphasis added.)

In the document’s foreword, the late Israel Shahak explains the “idea that all the Arab states should be broken down, by Israel, into small units, occurs again and again in Israeli strategic thinking… The plan follows faithfully the geopolitical ideas current in Germany of 1890-1933, which were swallowed whole by Hitler and the Nazi movement, and determined their aims for East Europe. Those aims, especially the division of the existing states, were carried out in 1939-1941, and only an alliance on the global scale prevented their consolidation for a period of time.”

The American neocons—including key players Richard Perle, Douglas Feith, and David Wurmser and his wife, Meyrav—further tweaked the plan with their A Clean Break: A New Strategy for Securing the Realm in 1996. The document, presented to then Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calls for trashing a “comprehensive peace” with the Palestinians and undermining Israel’s neighbors, most notably Syria and Iraq.

“Israel can shape its strategic environment, in cooperation with Turkey and Jordan, by weakening, containing, and even rolling back Syria. This effort can focus on removing Saddam Hussein from power in Iraq—an important Israeli strategic objective in its own right—as a means of foiling Syria’s regional ambitions,” the authors write.

The latter part of this plan was realized less than seven years after the document was submitted to Netanyahu. Its partial implementation cost more than a million Iraqi lives.

Unfortunately, observers like Tucker Carlson and others in the corporate media continue to argue the neocon plan is an abysmal failure, when in fact it continues to move forward, albeit with mixed success, notably in Syria where Saudi and US supported Salafists failed to overthrow the elected government. The same cannot be said for Iraq and Libya.

President Donald Trump’s over-the-top support for Israel has rekindled neocon aspirations for Israeli dominance and Arab misery and submission. His son-in-law, Jared Kushner, is a supporter of the vicious and often murderous settler movement in Israel. Trump’s main benefactor during the election was Sheldon Adelson, a casino tycoon who spends millions electing folks supporting the apartheid state of Israel and its version of manifest destiny.

It is safe to say the neocons are back after an eight year hiatus and driving US foreign policy, as the appointment of John Bolton and Elliot Abrams demonstrate. The pow-wow in Warsaw made it known in no uncertain terms the next phase of the plan is to take out Iran and insert a gang of terrorists—the People’s Mujahedin of Iran, led by the cult of personality figure Maryam Rajavi—who will take orders from Washington and Tel Aviv (or Jerusalem).

Iran is to be split up along ethnic lines—Kurdish, Gilaki, Mazandarani, Luri, Talysh, Balochi, and Azerbaijanis—and squabbles and turf wars between these groups and others will ensure order out of chaos and allow the United States and Israel to divide, conquer, and rule.

This is what Tucker Carlson and the corporate talking heads need to point out, not “failures” that are in fact victories as described in documents readily available and yet ignored.

Trump: Dazed and Confused

Donald Trump tells us he wants to put an end to forever war, but this doesn’t include Iran and Venezuela.

He wants to end the Bush wars, subsequently carried over by Obama, and start his own wars, one for Israel and the other for bankers and transnational corporations training a covetous eye on the world’s largest reservoir of oil.

None of this has anything to do with democracy. It’s about control of natural resources, gold, money, and populations. In the case of Iran, the objective is to topple the mullahs and install a neoliberal and Israel-friendly government.

Meanwhile Congress, both Democrats and Republicans, have voted to keep troops in Syria and Afghanistan in direct violation of international law. The vast majority of Americans want an end to these wars, but consensus is no longer required, and is in fact scorned when it is noticed at all.

Congress does not represent the people, who are held in contempt by the ruling elite. Congress represents the interests of banks (as the “bailout” revealed), corporations, and in the military-industrial-surveillance complex. Like Macron and the French ruling class, the US ruling class has little interest in the compounded problems of the little people. They exist to be fleeced like dumb animals, which many have become.

Instead of realizing the source of their problems stem primarily from the actions of a corrupt crony capitalist government and the financial elite that own it, they run to the state for protection and redistributed goodies. This can be seen in the growing popularity of socialism among so-called millennials. Many are unaware of the fact mainstream socialist movements are controlled by the elite. Wall Street bankers funded both the Bolsheviks and the Nazis.

Trump’s ignorance and incompetence has allowed the elite to subvert and take control of his administration. Trump is surrounded by insiders, most notably neocons who opposed him during the election.

Trump’s inability to control his administration was more than obvious when the arch neocon Elliot Abrams, who vocally opposed candidate Trump, was selected to be the point man on the destruction of Venezuela. Considering Trump’s thin skin, the demands of his ego, and his willingness to fire those who either criticize his rule, it is unlikely he will ever be able to wrest control of his administration away from the insiders and neocons.

The spectacle of neocons running rampant in his administration demonstrates that this president is not in control—the ruling elite and its cross-pollinated neocons and “humanitarian interventionists” are.

Bolton: I’ll Send Maduro to Gitmo

On Friday, the neocon running Trump’s foreign policy, John Bolton, threatened to send the elected president of Venezuela to the indefinite torture camp at Guantanamo.

Maduro should be relieved. The previous neoliberal regime in DC had the disfavored leader of Libya assassinated, but not before NATO-backed Islamists sadistically raped him with a bayonet. The longer Maduro resists, the more likely a variation of the above scenario will play out in Venezuela. Indefinite detention without charge is no doubt the preferable option.

Bolton is a well-seasoned neocon. He knows instinctively how to play the game. It was of course not a mistake his notepad said troops may be sent to neighboring Columbia.

His hint about sending the president of Venezuela to Camp Gitmo is also not a mistake. These are the guys who set-up Saddam Hussein and arranged to have him sent to the gallows.

In all cases—with the exception of Afghanistan—the primary objective is to control the vast oil reserves in Iraq, Iran, Libya, and now Venezuela, the country with the largest known oil reserve in the world.

It is well-known that a Unocal pipeline and its rejection by the Taliban served as the pretext for an invasion of Afghanistan—and before the events of 9/11.

In the former, the objective is to make Israel the undisputed hegemon of the Middle East and a forward base in the effort to contain the vassals, as former national security adviser Zbigniew Brzezinski called the victims of neocolonialism.

Considering Israel’s long-standing barbaric treatment of the Palestinians—and the establishment of an apartheid state—its multiple invasions and occupations of Lebanon, and its history of border provocations and false flag schemes (the Lavon Affair most prominent), it’s quite natural Israel’s Arab and Muslim neighbors are skeptical peace will ever be realized. This is exacerbated by the fact the peacemaker—the president’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner—is a confirmed Zionist and Likudnik.

The neocon plan was designed for creative destruction in the name of neoliberal-corporate domination and secondarily in service of the geopolitical goals of the Zionist state.

Creative destruction, as the neocon way of doing business is known, was carried out in Iraq and Libya, reducing both from the status of relatively modern nations to failed states. Iran is the remaining target, which Trump will turn his attention to after he deals with Venezuela.

Controlling the vast majority of the world’s oil—in Venezuela, Saudi Arabia, the emirates, and Iran—will however not save the petrodollar system or the dollar’s eroding status as the world’s reserve fiat currency.

Russia, China, Venezuela—all are in the process of moving away from the dollar and neoliberal institutions. Before he was murdered, Gaddafi planned to implement a state currency for the trade of oil. Now the country lays in ruin as competing factions fight it out in the streets.

It’s not likely Maduro will end up in Gitmo, although he may find a home in Cuba if the Bolton-Pompeo plan for Venezuela is finally realized. It certainly won’t come as a surprise if he is executed by his own military. This indeed may be Maduro’s fate now that generals are defecting from his administration.

Secretly Funded by Evil Russians

According to Newsguard co-CEO Steven Brill, critics of the “news rating agency” are secretly funded and supported by Russia.

Mr. Brill made the comment earlier this week while lobbying the EU in Brussels to adopt Newsguard’s browser plugin. It supposedly filters out news and information at odds with establishment propaganda.

I wrote about the neocon infested anti-liberty operation last month.

In that blog post, I wrote that the little guys with small traffic—like this blog—probably don’t have a whole lot to worry about. I don’t get a lot of referrals from social media and the Google search engine. I quit Facebook more than a year ago and dumped Twitter a few months ago.

It’s not difficult to see where this is going. If Newsguard and its corporate and neocon supporters manage to get the software and social media giants to incorporate this software in their products, we’re doomed. Microsoft has already agreed to roll the Newsguard plugin into its web browser. Other tech giants are being lobbied to include the neocon plugin.

Meanwhile, I’m waiting for my Russian paycheck.

I sure could use the money.

Trump and the MAGA Crowd Embrace the Neocon Plan for Venezuela

Is it fair to call MAGA neocon lite, or possibly MAGAcons?

The fact so few of these establishment labeled “white nationalists” had nothing to say about Trump’s illegal bombing of Syria, or the death toll from his war against ISIS, leads me to believe they enthusiastically support intervention in foreign nations, most recently Venezuela. They are not opposed to these illegal actions, which leads one to believe they subscribe to the neoliberal religion, or at least are not opposed to it.

From the start, it was obvious Trump was not a noninterventionist. He sincerely believes in using state violence to realize his vision of making America great again, which is to say continuing neoliberal interventionist policies in violation of international law, policies designed and implemented by a global elite, the practitioners of the neoliberal creed of creative destruction that employs mass murder and societal destruction as regime change tools.

Trump has said he’s not interested in nation-building. On the other hand, he said he is in favor of making victims pay for the destruction of their nations and societies. Recall his promise to make Iraq pay for its destruction. Trump said he would do this by stealing Iraqi oil and also said “terrorists” (those resisting occupation) would be tortured in the presence of their families.

It is obvious Trump was playing to a specific audience, the neocons. He also appealed to the noninterventionists by declaring he would bring the troops home. Trump made this promise again in regard to Syria, but he was overruled by the real controllers of US foreign policy, the neocons. So powerful is their sway John Bolton managed to team up with his soulmate, the convicted Iran-Contra criminal Elliot Abrams.

The effort to further destabilize Venezuela has nothing to do with helping the people. Trump’s decision to declare Juan Guaidó supreme leader of Venezuela and eventually depose the elected president Nicolas Maduro is only the latest in a long series of efforts by the United States government to eradicate Bolivarianism. In the case of Venezuela, the plan is to undermine and destroy Chavism, the Venezuelan version of Bolivarianism.

Simón Bolívar’s Carta de Jamaica, written in 1815, called for the end of Spanish conquest, the establishment of new South American nations, and the formation of a union of those nations opposed to imperialism. In other words, allowing the people to decide their destiny, not bankers on Wall Street and corporations itching to exploit the continent’s bounty of natural resources.

For the neoliberals, fire alarms went off in 2008 when Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, Ecuador, Bolivia, and Venezuela formed Banco del Sur, or Bank of the South, in response to the World Bank and the IMF demanding sacrificial structural adjustment as a condition to receive emergency funding.

In the previous decade, Hugo Chávez was elected and this produced further consternation on Wall Street. It took the CIA and its clone NED three years to pull off a coup that ultimately failed. Following the two day imprisonment of Chávez and his release, the US-organized Venezuelan opposition organized a general strike that shut down the oil industry and economically crippled the country. GDP fell 27% during the first four months of 2003. It cost the oil industry $13.3 billion. This economic warfare resulted in Venezuela defaulting on its international petroleum supply contracts as it was unable to meet its commitments.

Trump, his neocon advisers (his latest addition, Elliot Abrams, is a senior CFR member), and the MAGA ranks insist Venezuela is in “our backyard,” which means it is entirely reasonable to sponsor the opposition, meddle in elections, foment coups, and if need be use the US military to force Maduro from office, never mind the people who will be killed in the process.

Even supposed “liberals” believe the US government has the right to intervene in the internal affairs of other nations within the US proclaimed “backyard,” a throwback to Manifest Destiny and Roosevelt’s Big Stick warship diplomacy.

Consider “comedian” Bill Mahr. He recently declared on his television show the US has the right to overthrow the Maduro government. Bill and the neocons are on the same page. Venezuela is our backyard. We decide who will rule the country.

The MAGA faction—now apparently cleansed of noninterventionists—supports the foreign policy of the neocons. Read Breitbart and The Drudge Report. Nothing there about the neocon infestation at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue or the illegality of subverting a foreign country which just so happens to be in possession of the world’s largest supply of petroleum.

MAGA is now throughly neocon-ized. Breitbart supports the policies of Israel, including those of the Likud Party and the New Right Party, the latter formed by settlers and ideological Zionists.

The Left hates Trump, reject his ideas about a border wall, and are steadfastly opposed to all of his proposals—with the exception of foreign policy.

Obama successfully neutered the antiwar and nonintervention movement in the United States. During the Bush wars, there were demonstrations and these were predominately organized by the Left. But after Obama entered office and the rhetoric changed, these illegal wars magically transformed into “humanitarian” interventions. Obama dramatically increased the drone war, organized the destruction of Libya with his Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, and set the stage for the slaughter of more than a half million Syrians.

Despite campaign trail ramblings about defunding NATO and bringing the troops home, Trump continued this dying empire legacy. He appointed generals to run his foreign policy and when this didn’t produce results, he fired the generals and brought the neocons in. Neocons get things done, as the corpses of more than a million Iraqis and tens of thousands of Afghans demonstrate. Trump is a textbook example of a malignant narcissist. His prime concern is his image and place in history.

The MAGA crowd will support anything and everything Trump does. Move the capital of Israel to Jerusalem. Check. Feed the military industrial complex and become its number one salesman. Check. Expand the warfare doctrine into space. Check. Build “usable” nukes. Check. Continue the inhumane treatment of illegal aliens and their children, same as Obama. Check. Appoint Goldman Sachs bankers and CFR operatives in key positions, including at the Treasury. Check. Forget that promise to audit the Federal Reserve. Check. I could go on, but what’s the point?

It’s working out nicely for the ruling elite—for the moment.

While the Left and Right fight it out over identity politics, the state continues and expands its agenda behind the scenes. Incessant propaganda and a shocking ambivalence by the people to inform themselves on geopolitical issues has produced a populace either largely ignorant or simply disinterested in what its government does in the Middle East, Africa, and South America. If they have an opinion, it is formed by establishment news and social media.

Thus The New York Times can safely publish an “op-ed” penned by Juan Guaidó, the future dictator of Venezuela, calling for an overthrow of the government. Few complain or point out the obvious—Mr. Guaidó is the main character in a stage production scripted in Washington DC and the backrooms of Wall Street and London.

The reality has yet to sink in and it is truly amazing—no matter the president or majority in Congress, the same neoliberal agenda creeps forward. It is often disguised in several ways, but is the same beast created during Bretton Woods following the Second World War.

If this simple fact is not understood and accepted, we can’t hope to stop what is now shaping up on the world stage as the neocons provoke and threaten every perceived and invented enemy, from Venezuela to North Korea, Iran, and Syria to—most ominously—Russia and China, the last two bristling with nukes.

Trump’s Latest Neocon Adviser Assigned Task of Overthrowing Maduro in Venezuela

Donald Trump is no different than his predecessors. During the campaign, he said whatever he had to in order to get elected. He promised to close down the neocon foreign wars and also fight the “deep state” by draining the swamp.

Obama also promised to end the neocon wars, but that was said with the same insincerity as his predecessor, George W. Bush, who said in 2000 he wasn’t into nation building and foreign entanglements.

It is now obvious, with the Secretary of State Mike Pompeo’s appointment of convicted criminal Elliott Abrams as his “point person” on Venezuela, that the neocons have taken full control of Trump’s foreign policy.

“This crisis in Venezuela is deep and difficult and dangerous and I can’t wait to get to work on it,” said Abrams after Pompeo made the announcement.

Recall the role Mr. Abrams played during the Reagan years. He helped fund the Contras in Nicaragua and is linked to the 1982 El Mozote massacre of hundreds of civilians in El Salvador. It was later estimated by a UN truth commission that 85 percent of the abuses during the civil war in El Salvador were committed by military death squads assisted by the Reagan administration.

Abrams has experience overthrowing government’s not following the neoliberal master plan. In 2002, during the Bush neocon regime, Abrams worked on a failed Venezuelan coup. Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez was jailed. Supporters and a loyal military freed Chávez and likely saved him from what would later be known as the Gaddafi method of deposing disfavored leaders refusing to follow neoliberal strictures as pushed by the Council on Foreign Relations where Abrams is a senior fellow.

Rex Tillerson wanted to bring Abrams on board at the State Department, but Trump wouldn’t go for it because Abrams opposed his election and was a prominent fixture of the Never Trump movement. Now that Tillerson is gone—after characterizing Trump as a moron, but for the wrong reason—and neocons Pompeo and Bolton are in place, we can conclude that the neocon takeover of the Trump administration is all but complete. The final act is impeaching or forcing Trump’s resignation so the more amenable (for neocons) Christian Zionist Mike Pence can sit on the ceremonial throne.

“Next time, in 2020, we’ll have had 12 years of Obama and Clinton, Hillary will be in her mid-seventies, Trump will be gone, and a new generation of Republican leaders like Rubio and Cruz and Ryan and Cotton and Haley and Sasse will still be in their forties,” Abrams said in 2016.

Trump will be left to fight off endless attacks by Democrats trying to unseat him. His major campaign promise—to build the wall—will go unrealized and he will go down as one of the more ineffective presidents in US history.

Meanwhile, US foreign policy continues uninterrupted, never mind the minor turbulence of Trump declaring (again) that he will get US troops out of Syria and Afghanistan.

Bolton, Pompeo, and Abrams are in control. The wars will continue, expand—adding Iran and Venezuela to the forever war roster—and the people will be left to stand on the sidelines, ill-informed and distracted by lesser staged events.

“We’re an empire now, and when we act, we create our own reality. And while you’re studying that reality—judiciously, as you will—we’ll act again, creating other new realities, which you can study too, and that’s how things will sort out. We’re history’s actors… and you, all of you, will be left to just study what we do,” said Karl Rove, the Bush administration fixer and former Nixon dirty trickster.

It is unknown at this point what the neocon triumvirate—Bolton, Pompeo, Abrams—will do in regard to Venezuela. For now, the US has declared the “military option” (of murder and mayhem) is “on the table” in response to re-election of Nicholás Maduro. The heavy lifting will be left to the Lima Group—Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay and Peru—and these countries may be used to inflict a “humanitarian intervention” on the people of Venezuela.

The Organization of American States has not backed the neocon and Lima Group effort to evict Maduro and return the oil-rich nation to the neoliberal orbit. It cites the OAS Charter of 1948. Article 19, Chapter IV states: “No State or group of States has the right to intervene, directly or indirectly, for any reason whatever, in the internal or external affairs of any other State. The foregoing principle prohibits not only armed force but also any other form of interference or attempted threat against the personality of the State or against its political, economic, and cultural elements.”

For a large number of Trump supporters, making America Great Again means continuing the imperial objectives of the empire—installing preferred satraps (Juan Guaidó in Venezuela) or those tolerable to Wall Street and the Chicago School version of neoliberalism.

The hypocrisy is palatable. Trump and his diehard supporters stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the Democrat “Resistance” and the “liberal” media in regard to Venezuela. “It is revealing how the supposedly anti-Trump media have closed ranks and are marching in lockstep with the administration when it comes to overthrowing Washington’s official enemies. The media are not opposing Trump or tyranny; they are enabling it,” writes Alan MacLeod.

There is very little pushback inside the United States over these grossly illegal and immoral interventions. The Trump faithful has demonstrated repeatedly there are few differences between them and the “libtards” when the issue is supporting the financial elite and their crimes.

War becomes “humanitarian” when you put the right face on it. That’s why Obama got away with killing Gaddafi in Libya and destroying Syria while maintaining the empire’s footprint in Iraq and Afghanistan. Like Reagan, he excelled at manipulating the American public.

Typhoid John Spreads Neocon Infection at the White House

While the corporate media doubled down on the prospect of Trump’s wall emergency, the neocon infection inside the floundering Trump administration spread. John Bolton appointed one of his buddies from the Foundation for Defense of Democracies (FDD) to a key post.

Richard Goldberg is an ideal selection for a neocon-ized National Security Council, a forum created in 1947 as then President Truman went about building the national security state. The NSC drives US foreign policy—and with Bolton stomping around the White House unbound, that foreign policy is primarily about Israel and its enemies, although emphasis is shifting ominously toward confrontation with China and Russia.

Mr. Goldberg will be at home in a Bolton-influenced White House. He was a higher-up in the FDD, an organization that acts as a subsidiary of the Likudnik government of the apartheid state of Israel. It is obsessed with Iran and its imaginary nukes, which is of course a paper-thin pretext for attacking Israel’s only serious contender in the Middle East. In addition, it works overtime to blunt any serious response to Israel’s slow motion ethnic cleansing in illegally occupied territories.

Trump said a few days ago he will pull US troops out of Syria and reduce their numbers in Afghanistan by half. It’s rumored he also has a bridge in the Arizona desert for sale.

This will never happen because the deep state has a vested interest in killing Arabs and squatting on their land. Israel is the enforcer and paid handsomely for this role. Its rabid antisemitism—not of European Jews, but real semites, the Arabs—and willingness to butcher and torture are key assets for Bolton and the other neocon viroids that have wormed their way back into power after eight years of Obama.

Donald Trump long ago demonstrated he is wholly unfit to be POTUS. His campaign promise plan to get out of the Middle East—after flattening the country to rid it of psyop ISIS—has been duly ignored. The neocons are in control of foreign policy, thus leaving the Donald to squabble with Democrats over a ludicrous wall he plans to build on land stolen from property owners on the border. This back and forth between Trump and the Democrats serves as a distraction and allows the neocons to tweak their effort to turn Iran into another Iraq or Syria, thus establishing order out of chaos favorable to the tiny apartheid state of Israel.

Now that Mad Dog is history, Bolton and Pompeo will lobby Trump to get a solid neocon to fill the vacancy at the Pentagon. If not a pedigree neocon, at least somebody who is simpatico to forever war and the plan to make life miserable for Arabs outside the orbit on the US, Israel, and the Wahhabi emirates.
