Jake Tapper roasts former Democratic candidate for hyprocrisy

News anchors are often criticized for not questioning or fact-checking the things their guests say in interviews on their shows.

But not this time for CNN host Jake Tapper.

Tapper was interviewing Sen. Amy Klobuchar, a former candidate for the Democratic Party presidential nomination, following the death of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

Klobuchar had said in 2016, after the death of another justice, Antonin Scalia, that the “Constitution is clear” about the process to select a new member of the U.S. Supreme Court.

“The Constitution is clear: the Senate must consider the President’s nominee and then choose whether to vote ‘yes’ or ‘no.’ We must do our job, hold hearings, and vote,” Klobuchar said, responding to the nomination of Merrick Garland.

But Klobuchar said something entirely different on Tapper’s show this week, when the prospect of President Donald Trump getting to nominate another justice became reality.

Tapper called her out.

“If the Constitution was clear then, it is still clear now,” Tapper said.
