PBS White House correspondent Yamiche Alcindor tried to fact-check President Donald Trump again, but it backfired. She tried to counter Trump’s claim that anarchists were present in the violent riots across the country, but preliminary findings contradicted her claims.
“Get tough Democrat Mayors and Governors. These people are ANARCHISTS. Call in our National Guard NOW. The World is watching and laughing at you and Sleepy Joe. Is this what America wants? NO!!!” the president tweeted.

Alcindor tweeted in response to Trump that the president made the claim about anarchists “without providing any evidence.”

However, video footage and photographs exposed Alcindor’s attempted fact-check as a failed example of truth-telling and honest journalism. There has been widespread property destruction and looting, in addition to images of masked individuals inciting violence.
Though there is a lack of direct evidence of anarchist involvement so far, it is not hard to believe that the destruction and looting of private property were done by opportunistic looters or anarchist activists.
It was not the first time that Alcindor’s fact-checking attempt has fallen flat when it comes to the president. She called out U.S. Surgeon General Jerome Adams of racism for using politically incorrect language in comments about health awareness for minority communities, though Adams himself is black. She also accused Trump for being irresponsible when he held public rallies in March during the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, but she neglected to blame Joe Biden for doing the same.
