Attorney Jeff Sessions resigned on Wednesday after being pressured by President Donald J. Trump for more than a year over his decision to recuse himself from Robert Mueller led Russian probe.
Sessions recusal put Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein in the driver seat over the entire probe but Rosenstein has failed to act on the pointless ‘witch hunt.’ Now, we shall see what the new Acting Attorney General Matthew Witaker can muster.
President Trump Tweeted a two-part Tweet on Wednesday which read: “We are pleased to announce that Matthew G. Whitaker, Chief of Staff to Attorney General Jeff Sessions at the Department of Justice, will become our new Acting Attorney General of the United States. He will serve our Country well… We thank Attorney General Jeff Sessions for his service, and wish him well! A permanent replacement will be nominated at a later date.”
